Cross Wall Insulation Works
Main contract details
The Authority is seeking to install new external insulation within the existing construction at 40 properties of cross wall construction at various locations. The objective of the works is to improve SAP rating and energy performance.
The project includes stripping off and disposing off existing tiles and cladding, supply of all materials and labour including sourcing of materials, delivery, storage, installation, commissioning and removal and disposal of redundant materials, all in accordance with the Contract Specification, all applicable standards, regulations and manufacturers’ guidelines and the Contract Documents.
Overview
Successful Contractor will be required to:
- Strip off and dispose off existing tiles and cladding;
- Install new treated timber battens/counter battens;
- Renew insulation;
- Supply and install new breather membrane, UPVC cladding and metal tiling system;
- Replace sills where necessary and install all new closure and flashing fittings to give a secure and low maintenance finish.
The successful Contractor will also be responsible for the preliminary work of erecting scaffolding as required.
The list of Sites is split into two lots. The works at the Sites included in Lot 1 are required to be completed by no later than 31st March 2018. The Sites listed in Lot 2 are secondary priority and may be completed from April 2018.
Potential Contractors shall be responsible for visiting each site and undertaking own assessment of the premises/site with regard to the installation in order to confirm relevant measurements and satisfy themselves with the requirements of the Specifications and other Contract Documents and provide an accurate price with their tender submissions. No price variations will be accepted should a potential contractor miscalculate, miss or fail to price for any element of works that is required in order to provide a complete installation in accordance with and compliant to the requirements of the ITT and Contract Documents.
The visits to sites will be unaccompanied. As soon as receiving this invitation to tender, a Potential Contractor must send to the Procurement Team the email address and contact details of the relevant representative(s) who will be attending the sites via Messenger function of the ProContract portal. On receipt of such email address and contact details, Bromford will provide the Potential Contractor with a ‘Letter of Authority’ which the contractor’s representatives can then produce to the Customers when visiting Bromford’s sites.
