Pearson Commission Copy Writer

Sir Keith Pearson & Professor Simon Gregory have appointed a team whom have commenced a review of published literature in partnership with leading academics with field expertise. This work is being aligned to chapters of the report.

This literature review will be augmented by evidence collated through a series of interviews and site visits taking place throughout April and May. The team will generate a Commission scoping report draft by the beginning of June to be published alongside the HEE workforce strategy at the end of June.

The scoping report will set the parameters for the Commission’s considerations throughout the Summer, to inform recommendations and a final report in the Autumn. This extremely tight timescale means that we require the support of a professional writer to enable us to pull together the narratives written by team members into one coherent report with a single writing style, in line with the HEE style guide (attached).

1. Professional writer requirements
The commission team will be reviewing published literature around wellbeing and mental health of staff & learners throughout April and May, alongside a series of interviews and site visits to gather empirical evidence. The professional writer is required to;
• Working in partnership with team members, act as the central coordinator of the scoping report receiving written material from individual chapter leads
• Ensuring that it is stylised, coherent and fluent
• Proof read and edit submitted text
• Adhere to the HEE Style guidelines
• Produce a draft report by 30th May

2. Contract
The duration of the contract will be for 6 weeks from 16th April to 30th May, and will require the equivalent of 2 days per week input, not exceeding 12 days overall.
