Development of Healthy Workplaces in Merton
Main contract details
The London Borough of Merton (LBM) is seeking to commission an external organisation to develop and deliver an innovative and engaging workplace health and wellbeing programme. The programme will focus on supporting the organisations in Merton that fall within the three Business Improvement District areas.
The objective of this programme is to support local businesses in Merton to work together to become healthy workplaces, addressing the needs of employers and employees with regards to both mental and physical health. This will involve outreach, engagement and provision of support to local businesses to:
Develop an action plan across each BID area to implement local workplace health and wellbeing programmes for their member businesses.
Engage with and actively promote local, regional and national PHE Health campaigns.
Promote, encourage and support businesses to sign up to the GLA’s Healthy Workplace Charter.
Evaluate the reach and impact of the programme.
Share learning across BID areas and with local, regional and national stakeholders. Bidders should consider the development of an approach that:
Develops positive and productive partnerships with Merton’s three local BID areas and managers.
Creates a workplace health action plan across each BID, which is locally relevant to the businesses in each BID.
Incorporate the effective use of local, regional and national (Public Health England) resources into the action plans to support businesses to include health and wellbeing messages into the normal working week.
Identifies and train individuals to act as workplace health champions (including consideration of a ‘train the trainer’ model). It is expected that at least two workplace health champion will be identified and trained within every BID.
