THEATRE31 Mobilisation – Youth Performance Partnership Fund
Main contract details
Fixed term opportunity from June 2019 until December 2019 (with possible extension).
Opportunity:
A fantastic opportunity in Medway and Sheppey to engage over 2000 young people (8-18) in performance, drama, new writing, poetry, rap, gig theatre and stage craft. Performing in traditional space sand also non-traditional spaces. Led by genuine, authentic young person leadership we have successfully been granted £1M to achieve this ambition and make a step change in Medway and Sheppey for young people and their engagement in cultural activity. A real opportunity to change lives and create all the benefits that come from participation in performance.
The project runs from June 2019 until December 2022. The first of the project is the “Learn” phase to mobilise and establish the project leading to the second phase – “Implementation”. We are recruiting for a freelance enabler of organisation who can provide Project Management and co-ordination skills to mobilise and deliver this project working with a Project Board and Steering group made up of various members of the Medway and Sheppey Cultural Education Partnerships and wider stakeholders too, and also crucially, establishing and working with youth panels in both areas.
Who will this Role Suit?
This role will suit someone or an organisation who can bring their project management, strategic as well as practical, operational and relationship skills to build sustainable and effective partnerships. You’ll be passionate about the value that arts and culture can add to the lives and futures of children and young people, especially to those with the least opportunity and access. And especially committed to authentic co-creation with young people – hence the Theatre31 title, which in turn develops the Arts31 ethos pioneered by the Gulbenkian Theatre in Canterbury. You’ll also be experienced in working with and through partnerships and have insight into how to maximise the benefits of collaborative working and co-creation with young people. You’ll have the drive to support and organise activity, the relationship skills and patience to persuade and engage others, the awareness to identify opportunities for growth, and practical ideas to enhance the impact of the partnerships. And the organisational skills or resources to keep the project organised and supported.
Key Details:
You’ll be a key member of the THEATRE 31 project and will be self – sufficient with business support. You will be expected to cover and plan for your own PAYE and NI, office costs and consumables.
