Description
BCP Council require a contractor to undertake engineering works to stabilise the eastern flank of the cliff around the former lift site and demolition of the buildings located at its base

The options which are to be included at the tender stage are:
• Option A – Full site remediation - Stabilisation of western and eastern cliffs, strengthening of terracing and walls. Demolition of crest structures and toe structures and all ancillary works.
• Option B - Cliff stabilisation (western and eastern cliffs) - Site clearance. Reprofile and install soil nails on eastern and western cliffs. Strengthen eastern and western terracing. Demolish café building and strengthen remaining walls and cast facing. Remediation of lower lift pit.
• Option C - Cliff stabilisation (eastern cliff only) - Site clearance. Reprofile and install soil nails on eastern cliff. Strengthen eastern terracing. Demolish café building and strengthen remaining walls and cast facing. Remediation of lower lift pit. Removal of track bed steel rails, timbers and conduits. Minor works to western cliff: scaling and removal of overhangs, installation of raking drains (10no.) and placement of erosion protection matting over extents.
• Option D - Cliff stabilisation (eastern cliff only) - Site clearance. Reprofile and install soil nails on eastern cliff. Strengthen eastern terracing. Demolish café building and strengthen remaining walls and cast facing. Remediation of lower lift pit. Removal of track bed steel rails, timbers and conduits.

Suppliers can bid for any or all of the 4 options.

The anticipated start date of the contract is March 2026. The contract will be for 18 months with no option to extend.
