Description
The Authority is inviting quotations for Cognitive Coaching training sessions for doctors and dentists in postgraduate training in the West Midlands commencing on 1st August 2018 to 31st March 2019.

The geographical area covers some 5000 square miles and is home to more than 5.3 million people. It contains the Coventry, Birmingham, Black Country conurbation and stretches from Leek in Staffordshire in the North to Ross-on-Wye in Herefordshire in the South, from Bishops Castle in Shropshire in the West to Rugby in Warwickshire in the East.

The Authority is responsible for delivering Specialty and General Practice (GP) medical and dental postgraduate training programmes for approximately 5000 doctors and dentists across the West Midlands.

One of the mandatory responsibilities of the Authority is to provide expert support and guidance to doctors and dentists throughout their postgraduate training years and to support the General Medical Council (GMC) in its role in regulating the medical profession.

It is anticipated that up to 5% of trainees will require additional support during their programme and the trigger for referring a doctor or dentist to the Professional Support Unit (PSU) is usually an unsatisfactory report from an Educational/Clinical Supervisor.

A referral form would be completed, sent to the PSU and a Case Manager would be assigned.
The Regional Postgraduate Dean has specific responsibility for the Professional Support Unit.
