Main contract details
The new HWRC must be located within the administrative area of Kent and within or close to the primary search area shown on the map below, defined as ‘to the west of the Maidstone Town Centre and to the north of the town of West Malling but contained within the proximity or locality of the M20/A20 corridor’. The new HWRC must be sited on suitable land (planning and environmental permitting wise) between 1 and 5 hectares in size. The timescales for this project are tight and therefore to achieve delivery within this timescale, it is desirable for the site to either have an existing waste or industrial use.
The site must be of a modern design such that it can comply with all current Environment Agency Environmental Permitting requirements and have a long enough access/entrance way within the site as to not cause any excessive queuing on the highway.
