Piling for Environmental Innovation Hub, Durley Chine, Bournemouth, BH2 5JF – Future Opportunity

Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council (BCP Council) are currently accepting expressions of interest from specialist subcontractors who are interested in providing a quote for future contract requirement for piling works.

The project comprises the construction of a 2-storey timber frame Environmental Innovation Hub, concrete frame public WCs, concrete frame kiosk, and timber decking under a timber/living roof.

It is anticipated that the successful supplier will be required to commence these works in November / December 2020.

The Council will be issuing a quote request for these requirements to specialist subcontractors who meet the following criteria:
• CFA piles, 250mm dia, to a nominal depth of 10m (depth to be confirmed by structural engineers). Contractors must have experience of previous projects using CFA piles.
• Contractors must be aware of the location of the site and the restrictions that this will bring with regards vehicle movements and delivery of plant and materials.
• Contractors are to be based within a 40-mile radius of the site.
• The subcontract will include design of the piling based upon the structural engineers’ specification (currently at Stage 3).

It is anticipated that the quote request, including full details of the requirement, will be issued to suppliers who meet the requirements by early to mid-November.
