Description

Gloucestershire County Council commissions an Integrated Healthy Lifestyles Service, which supports people to quit smoking, lose weight, cut down on alcohol and become more physically active, and to take other steps to improve their overall health and wellbeing.  
The Council will be conducting market engagement for the new adult Integrated Healthy Lifestyles Service during February 2023. The current contract for the service ends on 31st March 2024, with new service provision commencing on the 1st April 2024.  We would like to invite providers, (both new and existing), to meet with us to discuss the intentions for the future commissioning of this service; making sure we build on the best of what we already do, consider local issues and how best to meet future needs.  
Our aim is to create a service which:  
<ul>
<li style="text-indent: -18pt; line-height: normal">         more ambitiously addresses health inequalities by engaging and focusing our support on those facing the greatest barriers to health and wellbeing</li>
<li style="text-indent: -18pt; line-height: normal">         is flexible and responsive to individual needs by continuing to provide person centred support</li>
<li style="text-indent: -18pt; line-height: normal">         is better integrated with other services and support by working in partnership with the public, voluntary and community sectors to improve outcomes</li>
<li style="text-indent: -18pt; line-height: normal">          is developed with and embedded in communities by working more collaboratively with communities in which health inequalities are greatest to explore how we can better support healthy lifestyles </li>
<li style="text-indent: -18pt; line-height: normal">         is evidence based, and continually learning from feedback and improving</li>
</ul>
The Council will use the learning from market engagement to refine its commissioning approach and service specification.
The Council has arranged this exercise to brief providers on scope, key considerations and timeline, and to listen to your views as providers.
Participants will have the opportunity to:

<li style="text-align: justify; text-indent: -18pt; line-height: normal; background: rgba(255, 255, 255, 1)">         Understand the proposed future contract arrangements.</li>
<li style="text-align: justify; text-indent: -18pt; line-height: normal; background: rgba(255, 255, 255, 1)">     Ask questions.</li>
</ul>
Target audience – Providers and consortia with knowledge and a proven track record of one or more of the following:
<ul>
<li style="text-align: justify; text-indent: -18pt; background: rgba(255, 255, 255, 1)">        Providing Healthy Lifestyles Services</li>
<li style="text-indent: -18pt; background: rgba(255, 255, 255, 1)">        Ability to reach groups and communities which currently have the poorest outcomes or who are currently underserved by health and wellbeing service offers </li>
<li style="text-indent: -18pt; background: rgba(255, 255, 255, 1)">         Experience in supporting clients with multiple ‘unhealthy’ behaviours</li>
<li style="text-indent: -18pt; background: rgba(255, 255, 255, 1)">         Experience of constructive and successful partnership working</li>
<li style="text-indent: -18pt; background: rgba(255, 255, 255, 1)">         Tried and tested methods of supporting self-care and fostering independence</li>
<li style="text-indent: -18pt; background: rgba(255, 255, 255, 1)">         Harnessing community assets and strengths</li>
</ul>
The event will take place on 13th February 2023 - 11.00am – 12.00pm, via MS Teams and will include a presentation from Commissioners and a Q & A session.
Following this event, we will also hold closed room sessions with individual providers. These will provide the opportunity to meet with us individually in 40 min slots (again via MS Teams) between 9am and 5pm on the 22nd February 2023. Dependent upon demand we will make the morning of 1st March available for additional one to one sessions.

<li style="text-indent: -18pt">         To hear your experience of delivering to similar offers/agendas/approaches (as outlined at the event on 13th Feb).</li>
<li style="text-indent: -18pt">         For you to have an opportunity to ask us questions.</li>
</ul>
