Hosted on Teams

Independent Living for Older People – New Development

Castles and Coasts Housing Association, (CCHA) invites you to a pre-market engagement, supplier event to share our evolving requirements in respect of future provision of affordable housing solutions for older people. CCHA’s Development team are keen to hear from a range of developers with expertise in the Older Persons housing market.

CCHA will look to set up 1:1 sessions with interested suppliers, the session will begin with a presentation about CCHA’s development programme and our perspective on the potential for affordable older persons living and our preferred development approaches. The presentation will be followed by a general question and answer session.

CCHA’s main aim is to engage with suppliers to understand current delivery opportunities and challenges to inform our preferred delivery route. We propose to use information gathered at the event to inform a specification of requirements for a forthcoming restricted procedure tender opportunity with CCHA to deliver an innovative older persons scheme in Northumberland of circa 70 units.

CCHA would like to flag at this early stage of engagement that we are seeking to pioneer new approaches with the following features;

Tailored to the needs of our customers.

Smaller schemes of mixed house types and tenures with a reduced offering of apartments.

Utilises thoughtful design that fosters social interaction to reduce isolation in the public realm and shared areas, whilst maintaining small pockets of defensive space.

Community facilities or hub that offers services to residents of the scheme and the wider community.
