PME - Preliminary Market Engagement Event - Integrated Community Equipment Service
Main contract details
Community equipment services provide a range of equipment to residents that enables independence and wellbeing at home, assists carers in moving and handling residents, and can prevent admission to in-patient units, or referrals to other services. Equipment includes aids for personal care, riser recliner chairs, grab rails, hospital beds and pressure mattresses, sensory needs equipment etc.
To avoid any duplication of work by potential providers, SEL have partnered with North Central London (NCL) boroughs who are undertaking similar horizon scanning work for this information gathering exercise. If you consent to SEL sharing your response with NCL then please indicate your agreement within Q6 of the questionnaire below.
The boroughs are keen to engage with leading and reputable providers to inform long-term planning, including consideration of various potential models:
• Equipment provision
• Logistics (storage, delivery, collection, repair and maintenance)
• Combined equipment provision and logistics
We would like to hear from any organisations who are currently providing these services to further understand:
• Interest in working in South East London (Bromley, Greenwich, Lambeth, and Southwark) and North Central London (Barnet, Camden, Haringey, Islington)
• Views on different potential operating models
• Pricing benchmarking
• Preferred contractual arrangements, and
• Potential challenges, issues and/or risks
This notice includes a questionnaire (appendix A) which can be completed by any size of organisation wishing to engage and assist the Council in this market insight stage. Please complete the enclosed questionnaire (appendix A) and submit the response via the messaging service.
This is NOT the commencement of a procurement procedure, neither is it a call for expressions of interest. This notice does not constitute a call for competition to procure any services for the Council and the Council is not bound to accept any proposals offered. The Council is not liable for any costs, fees or expenses incurred by any party participating in this soft market testing/sounding exercise. Any procurement of any services by the council in due course will be carried out strictly in accordance with the provisions of the Procurement Act 2023.
