Description

The objective of this tender process is to appoint a supplier(s) to deliver a range of social media, website and marketing campaign services to support the return to high streets safely and recover from the pandemic in Wigan Borough. To support this objective, the tender consists of the following two Lots: • Lot 1: Support to develop a ‘Love Local’ brand and marketing campaign - In 2020 we launched the ‘Support Local’ campaign designed to encourage residents to support their local businesses rather than larger, national, or international companies. Connected to the council’s Community Wealth Building principles, the aim is to protect and promote local job opportunities and to encourage an entrepreneurial spirit. The audience is residents who venture outside of the borough for retail and leisure and is designed to showcase what’s on offer locally to convince them to stay here. The purpose of the services to be provided through this Lot is to build and amplify this existing campaign and to give it a presence. Some of the activities could include ‘Love Local’ social media pages, Social media campaigns and Seasonal leaflets (Christmas 2021/ Easter 2022) to be delivered to all households / published online promoting the Support Local campaign and profile local businesses. • Lot 2: ‘Visit Wigan’ Marketing campaign - The aim of the 'Visit Wigan' website (which is almost complete) is to showcase what the borough has to offer, from information about accommodation to fun activities. It’s been designed to entice people outside of the borough to come for a day trip or even a staycation. The purpose of the services to be provided under this Lot is to generate interest in Wigan as a place to visit and stay, using the website as a key point of information for potential visitors. Some of the activities could include promotional video content, additional content for the website, and a marketing campaign to increase web traffic and visitor numbers to the borough. Bidders are welcome to apply for one or both lots of work. The closing date for the submission of final tender applications is Wednesday 13th October 2021 at 17:00.
