Construction and Fit-out of Exhibition at Museum of Wigan Life

<p>Wigan Council wish to appoint a contractor (&rsquo;the supplier&rsquo;) to construct and fit-out elements of a temporary rugby exhibition (gerrumonside!) at The Museum of Wigan Life. The 2021 Rugby League World Cup will be the sixteenth staging of the cup and will be held in England between 23rd October and 27th November. Leigh Sports Village will play host to three games as part of the tournament, which will be watched worldwide by an estimated 150 million people across 115 countries. The Museum of Wigan Life have worked with Install Archive Ltd to create a curated exhibition titled &lsquo;gerrumonside!&rsquo; focused on Rugby League. It sees the majority of the ground floor museum space reimagined and takes a bold and vibrant approach to use of space, display of items and interpretation. It will appeal to a range of new audiences and will be an opportunity to test different design approaches with new and existing audiences. The start date of the contract shall be the beginning of August and the contract will run until October 2021. Installation is expected to take place in September. The exhibition will open late September/October 2021. Interested applicants can obtain a full Specification through The Chest procurement portal.
