<p>Introduction and background to the project The Authority currently operates a Vmware environment at its Kendal HQ, we wish to replace this environment and migrate the servers to a hosted data centre Tender Objective The objective is for all Authority servers to be hosted off-premise and fully managed by the platform provider. See Annex 1 for a list of servers to be hosted Your solution options may take the form of fixed hosts/storage or a per CPU/Memory/Storage solution Full management is to include • Patching and updating of servers including responses to vulnerability scans • Upgrades to ensure servers remain on supported operating systems (may require working with third party providers) • Full backups including application data (Exchange/SQL/Active Directory) o Recovery of application items o Full system recovery o Instant recovery of systems is not expected to be affordable but recovery within 24 – 48 hours is required please include a breakdown of pricing for recovery times • Licencing for all systems as required • Review of server inventory and recommendations for consolidation/reduction where possible Suppliers will be expected to submit a fixed fee proposal and have the capacity to deliver the contract preferably by 31 March 2023. Current Environment The Authority currently hosts the server inventory on a Vmware comprising two Hosts and a SAN. The capacity of the environment is as follows: 2 IBM Hosts each with Intel(R) Xeon(R) Silver 4110 CPU @ 2.10GHz (32 logical Processors) and 512Gb Ram IBM SAN with 40Tb usable storage – there are currently no SSDs in this SAN The Authority is downsizing the VM inventory and a list of servers remaining to be hosted is available in Annex 1 It is anticipated that any solution will equal or exceed the performance of the current infrastructure and that this eliminates the need to run any metrics on the existing system.</p>
