PP18117 - Bilston Church of England Primary School Interior Alterations and Staff Extension

The Works comprise an extension and internal alterations of an existing Primary School.

The construction of a single storey extension for Staff Room and Head Teachers Office comprising traditional loadbearing external walls on concrete raft foundation with steel roof beams, purlins and insulated composite flat roof with parapets.

Alterations to existing areas within the school including removing external wall to side of Staff Room for new extension with associated structural support, construct new corridor with doors leading to Staff Room and Head Teachers Room, new rooflight in staff room, removing Small Group Rooms to form a larger Science/Technology Classroom, replacing existing Reception glass block wall with new glazed screen, removing Group Room Store cupboard and all necessary associated work to building finishes and services.

External works include extending the existing pavement around the building extension and new and alterations to underground drainage.

The Contractor is directed to the Drawings to identify the exact extent and nature of the Works.

The Works will be carried out in Sections: Section 1 Internal Works and Section 2 New extension (including works at interface with existing building), external works and drainage.

The School will be operational for part of the period of the Works.

Term times and school hours are described in the ITT documentation.

The proposed terms and conditions for this project are the JCT Intermediate Building Contract 2016 Edition. It is assumed that any supplier returning a tender for this requirement will have a copy and is familiar with these terms and conditions and will have previous experience of executing contracts on this basis.

Please note that it is intended that a single contractor will be appointed by the Council to undertake all the required works.
