Independent Fostering Agency (IFA) Engagement Event

North Somerset Council would like to invite you to a virtual Independent Fostering Agency (IFA) Engagement Event, 1pm Tuesday 13th February 2024.

Over recent months, Children’s Services at North Somerset Council have been developing a bold delivery plan to create a step-change in its approach to ensuring services for children, young people and their families are consistently good or better and provides the framework for delivering ambitions for excellence and innovation. We have also been working with IMPOWER to trial the Valuing Care approach to help us better understand and meet the needs of our children and young people in care and at the edge of care.

As newly appointed DCS for North Somerset, I’m keen to support the development of strategic relationships and therefore excited to introduce myself and understand how we can work together most effectively to meet the needs of our children and young people. We recognise the significant role that IFAs play in supporting us to provide children and young people with appropriate placements in a home-based setting that is local and offers them stability, even if that is for a short period of time. This will also inform a subsequent IFA Matching Event we are keen to hold with interested providers ( a separate invite has been sent out.).
