Main contract details
- increasing investment in research and development at the local level
- investment to support the diffusion of innovation knowledge and activities
- supporting the commercialisation of ideas, encouraging collaboration and accelerating the path to market so that more ideas translate into industrial and commercial practice.
As a next step in our approach to delivering the UKSPF Supporting Local Business Investment priority in Greater Manchester, GMCA are now in the process of developing a proposal for delivery of the E19 intervention, which covers:-
• Increasing investment in research and development at the local level
• Investment to support the diffusion of innovation knowledge and activities.
• Supporting the commercialisation of ideas, encouraging collaboration and accelerating the path to market so that more ideas translate into industrial and commercial practices.
This will be delivered in line with the Greater Manchester Innovation Plan, and wider funding programmes such as the Innovation Accelerator.
The first step in this process has been to undertake a literature review to support development of the evidence base for commissioning of activity under this intervention. This has identified a series of lessons and principles to inform the approach to delivering E19. As the next step, we will now be holding two workshops with our stakeholders to present and discuss the findings of the literature review and help inform our approach to commissioning and delivery:-
1. In-Person at the Friends Meeting House in Manchester, Monday 22nd May - 10.30am-12.30pm
2. Online (via Teams), Wednesday 24th May - 11am – 1pm
The content of the two workshops will be the same, but we wanted to provide two options so that there’s chance more people will be able to attend. If you would like to join one of the workshops, please RSVP with your details to ukspf@greatermanchester-ca.gov.uk. Please note that as capacity for the in-person workshop is limited, places will be allocated on a first come first serve basis.
Please DO NOT respond via The Chest.
Please respond directly to the UKSPF inbox ukspf@greatermanchester-ca.gov.uk with the email address of the individual that wishes to attend.
