Children’s Holiday Activity and Food Programme (HAF) Summer 2021

<p>The Department for Education (DfE) is providing funding to local authorities to coordinate a programme that provides healthy food and enriching activities to disadvantaged children during the Easter, Summer and Christmas Holidays during 2021. Together for Children has been allocated up to &pound;1.3 million from the DfE to support more than 10,500 children in Sunderland who receive free school meals. The funding allocated is for the period of March to December 2021. Easter grants have already been allocated. There is &pound;1.1 million remaining for delivery of Summer and Christmas schemes. The grant funding will allow Together for Children to engage providers from the private, voluntary and public sector to offer a rich and diverse programme of activity for all children and young people who are eligible to benefits-based free school meals, during the Summer holidays 2021. Together for Children is seeking to establish an authorised list of providers who can deliver the above activities. Providers are invited to participate in a Selection Questionnaire process and if successful, will be allocated funding to deliver schemes for Summer 2021.
