Development of Barrow-in-Furness Application for Round 2 Levelling Up Fund and UK Shared Prosperity ...

<p>There are two components to the ITT: I. Levelling Up Round 2 Application The Council have been successful in securing Levelling Up Funds from Central Government to undertake some significant transformation projects in Barrow in Furness Town Centre. They now wish to submit a further application in Round 2 up to &pound;4m which will focus on cultural investment in the Borough with a focus on high impact sporting assets that will make a visible and positive difference to the local area. 2. Developing a Local Investment Plan for Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) The Council have been allocated &pound;2.4m UKSPF subject to submitting an Investment Plan to formally secure the resource by end of June 2022. The Council is seeking consultancy support to develop a set of investment priorities and projects that meet the criteria of the fund and reflect the needs of the Borough. The contract is due to commence in early May 2022 and will end when the Department of Levelling Up Housing and Communities makes a decision and all formalities are concluded. A contingency sum will need to be budgeted for in the submission to allow for any clarifications or additional information to be provided. The budget for the work is &pound;60,000 including contingency sum of &pound;2,500.</p>
