We would like to invite parties interested in tendering for the Contract to an open day on Wednesday 18th January 2017, at 10.00am at Northumbria House, 7/8 Silver Fox Way, Cobalt Business Park, Newcastle Upon Tyne, NE27 0QJ to present information on how the needs of the coagulation testing service could be met. Suppliers who express and interest in this opportunity will be contacted via the email address registered on this portal to confirm if they wish to attend the open day and/or receive further details about the event.


The Haematology Department of Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust intends to undertake a tendering exercise for replacement of coagulation analysers for the total workload and is requesting information from the marketplace.

Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust intends to undertake a tendering exercise for the provision of a Managed Service Contract (MSC) for a coagulation testing solution. The Contract will include the provision of a 2 / 3 coagulation testing solution to deliver the repertoire of tests outlined in this notice and as further detailed in the specification, the supply of all associated consumables and reagents, installation & implementation, support and maintenance and user training.

Managed service contract to supply analysers, reagents, consumables and all required training, installation and support/maintenance for a laboratory coagulation testing solution for Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, across a number of acute sites.

North Tyneside General Hospital (NTGH) and Wansbeck General Hospital (WGH) provide a basic repertoire of tests with Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital (NSECH) providing additional specialist coagulation testing i.e. Thrombophilia screening, Lupus Screening & Factor assays. Additional services are also being developed for the monitoring of direct oral anticoagulant drugs (DOACs).
