Development and delivery of a ‘Green’ Ambassador Programme for the Lincolnshire Coast

<p>The project is delivered in the context of a highly seasonal coastal economy, with the aim of:</p>
<ul>
<li>Supporting coastal visitor economy businesses to survive and thrive</li>
<li>Supporting coastal communities to access employment, and develop their careers, through raising aspirations and upskilling</li>
</ul>
<p>It is founded on local ownership through engagement with coastal employers, learning providers and wider stakeholders.</p>
<p>Local stakeholders include:</p>
<ul>
<li>Greater Lincolnshire LEP, Lincolnshire County Council, Coastal Developers Forum, an Employer Steering Group, Local Learning Providers, Visit Lincolnshire Coast DBID</li>
</ul>
<p>National connections include:</p>
<ul>
<li>Coastal Communities Alliance, Coastal Communities All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG), House of Lords Select Committee – The Future of Seaside Towns</li>
</ul>
<p>This project has three key activity areas:</p>
<ul>
<li>Promoting Coastal Careers – raising aspirations, promoting career opportunities, supporting skills transfer</li>
<li>Supporting Skills Innovation – off season training, local employer skills leadership, apprenticeship development</li>
<li>Building and disseminating a Coastal Evidence (economy and community) Base – improving our understanding of the seaside/ coastal economic context and articulating skills gaps and shortages, seasonality issues, and the opportunity to learn from other seaside economies</li>
</ul>
<p>The Ambassador Programme shall aim to: <br />• Train and certify 10 – 20 Green tourism Ambassadors <br />• Encourage involvement of 10-20 Coastal Tourism Businesses <br />• Assist in promoting career progression and improve employability of 10-20 individuals<br /><br />For clarification regarding this RFQ, please contact Mary Powell (Mary.Powell@lincolnshire.gov.uk) and Nicola Radford (Nicola.Radford@lincolnshire.gov.uk)</p>
