Title
CS6024 Children and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS)

85000000-9 - Health and social work services
Description
This bespoke, integrated offer delivering Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) support within London Borough of Tower Hamlets (LBTH) Children’s Social Care aims to promote a collaborative and holistic approach for CYP who are experiencing the care system, by ensuring they are provided timely and robust support for their mental health and emotional wellbeing.

In addition to this core service, in Children’s Social Care we locally commission a CAMHS in Social Care service, paid for by Supporting Families, promoting a collaborative and holistic approach for children who are experiencing the care system, by ensuring they are provided timely and robust support for their mental health and emotional wellbeing.

Children open to Social Care services under this arrangement do not have to join a waiting list to be seen by a CAMHS clinician and can benefit from expert help and access to NHS pathways of care which are not available outside CAMHS. This is an innovative service design established in Tower Hamlets in recognition of the additional challenges faced in our local community. In addition, Tower Hamlets has made Care Experience a protected characteristic, and children in our care and care leavers in particular benefit from this service. It is well researched and acknowledged that children and young people who have experiences of the care system are more likely to have mental health difficulties, and mental health disorders than those who do not have these experiences.

This will be a Direct Award A via NHS Provider Selection Regime (PSR) due to the offer being an extension of core CAMHS service provided in Tower Hamlets by ELFT.
