Description
Fire stopping works are to be carried out to our low, medium and high rise blocks in Middlesbrough, Stockton, Hartlepool, the Tees Valley, Sunderland, Newcastle and York with the potential of further works subject to satisfactory performance & delivery.

We anticipate that the successful Firestopping Contractor will provide suitable and sufficient technical advice on individual schemes to allow the Group to make informed decisions as part of these works.

We require all labour, plant, materials and equipment for the supply and installation of fire stopping products to partition wall service penetrations, and service risers etc. The works will include the inspection of existing and / or installation of:


• Roof space fire curtains;
• Fire stops (primary and secondary);
• Linear gap seals;
• Penetration seals for pipes, cables and some ancillary equipment;
• Sealant application;
• Intumescent sealant;
• Pressure exerting fire stop mastic;
• Fire stop mortar;
• Fire stop collars;
• Intumescent door strip;
• Coated board system;
• Ironmongery;
• Pipe boxing;
• Ceiling tiles;
• Fire risk surveys.
The successful Tenderer will be named as the main contractor for reporting purposes and must comply with all regulations & recommendations as set out in the latest edition of The Red Book, Fire Stopping: 3rd Party Certified Products as published by The Association for Specialist Fire Protection, Telephone: 01420 471610, The Building Regulations Approved Document B (B1, B2, B3, B4 & B5) Volume 2 and The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2006; they must be a FIRAS, LPCB or similar approved company.

The following information is an indication, in order to plan & deliver the Contract:

•The length of the contract will be 3 years with an option to extend for 2 further periods of 12 months each.
•The Contract will be Term Partnering Contract TPC2005 (amended 2008).
•Locations of works will be potentially from Newcastle in the North to the City of York in the South;
•The chosen firestopping contractor will be expected to work alongside and in conjunction with our other construction partners and also independently as a Principal Contractor;
•Numbers of suppliers to be awarded a contract will be one (1).
