Description
This is the shortlisting stage. Please ensure you read the procurement documentation especially PART ONE and provide the required information.

Broxtowe Borough Council (the Council) is undertaking this procurement to find a Contractor to finalise the design and build a Community Pavilion and Young People’s Centre at Hickings Road, Recreation Ground in Stapleford, Nottingham. NG9 8PJ.

This project forms one of six core projects identified in the Stapleford Town Improvement Plan (TIP) and is funded by Towns Fund Deal.

The scope of the building works will comprise of the demolition of the existing changing pavilion and the construction of a new community leisure pavilion together with associated external works including installation of MUGA and replacement of skate park with community garden.

A new 11 a-side 3G football pitch is also planned on the site, and it is envisaged that this will be constructed concurrent to the building contract for the new pavilion, albeit the football pitch will be constructed by others. The successful contractor for the Pavilion will be expected to coordinate and work collaboratively with the 3G pitch contractor to ensure a safe working environment and coordination of site access and use.

Planning permission for the new pavilion has been approved (Reference 23/00051/REG3 dated 7th July 2023) which can be found: www.planning.broxtowe.gov.uk/ApplicationDetail?RefVal=23/00051/REG3

The works are planned to be let utilising either a JCT D&B 2016 or NEC4 Option A form of Building Contract on a design and build basis.

The Council invites the successful Contractor to take a novation of the Architect and Structural Engineer appointments. The successful Contractor may however propose alternatives in the tender (Stage 2) process. The Building Services Engineer will be retained by the Council.

The Contractor will be required to work collaboratively with the Client’s professional team and the Clients’ partners to coordinate the detailed design. It is envisaged that the works will commence Spring 2024 and take approximately 12 months. The project is funded by the Towns Deal and must be completed prior to April 2025.

The Council requires a competitive build price and would imagine maximum price of bids to be up to the value of £6.5m, but with potential to be lower.

NOTE: All Candidates should access the ‘Messages’ section of the e-procurement system on a regular basis to check for any clarifications issued on this project and/or any public exchange of information between interested parties, before final submission of their bid.
