Expression of Interest -
The Safer Communities Team are now actively researching new offers for those people who are identified as being perpetrators of alleged perpetrators of domestic abuse.

There would ideally be a range of different interventions for both male and female referrals, and various age groups within the definition of domestic abuse (16+). Providers should be prepared to evidence why different approaches may be beneficial to the individual. Any premises associated with delivery should be in Knowsley, be easily accessible via public transport and non-discriminatory.

The appropriate intervention will repeatedly challenge behaviours conducive with all forms of domestic abuse, including coercive control and these challenges should be formally recorded for the purposes of safeguarding.

The desired intervention per client should be no longer than 40 hrs delivery time per participant, and any service provider should have a proven track record for achieving results and a retention rate of 75% or above. The following topics should be included during the course: Emotional Management, Gender roles, Conflict resolution, Taking responsibility, Problem Solving (including seeking further support independently) and Being a good parent. However please note that this list is not exhaustive.

Providers would need to be able to supply a weekly register of attendance in a timely manner, a formal mid-way report and a formal closing report detailing progress made by participants as well as making themselves available to be able to provide ad hoc verbal updates and highlight an issues of concern as the intervention progresses. Providers may also be expected to contribute to child protection processes through the provision of content for reports and other updates.

Providers should be set up to deal with a range of complex needs and vulnerabilities and have ability manage suitable referrals into other organisations where appropriate and be able to start taking referrals immediately in the new financial year.
