Tintern Wireworks Bridge – Strengthening and Refurbishment

<p>This advert is intended to notify potential suppliers of the tender for Tintern Wireworks Bridge Strengthening and Refurbishment.&nbsp;</p>
<p><br />The site is located along A466 near Tintern Abbey crossing River Wye. The objective of the works is to Strengthen&nbsp;<br />and refurbish the bridge. This contract is looking for a Principal Contractor to deliver the construction phase of this project.&nbsp;<br /><br />Construction Phase key Deliverables are as follows:<br />&bull; Install ties using pattress plate/rod system to the west wingwalls and abutment&nbsp;<br />&bull; Install full encapsulation system around the bridge&nbsp;<br />&bull; Grit blasting and re-painting&nbsp;<br />&bull; Repointing of the masonry walls&nbsp;<br />&bull; Install new steel beams and associated works (including preparation of the piers/abutments and welding&nbsp;<br />operations)&nbsp;</p>
<p><br />A summary of the outline programme for the scheme is shown below:&nbsp;<br />Tender period: Friday 8th April 2022 to Tuesday 24th May 2022&nbsp;<br />Award: 10th June 2022&nbsp;<br />Anticipated Works Start Date: 24th June 2022 site access&nbsp;<br />Completion: 3rd March 2023&nbsp;<br /><br />Indicative Value: Approx. &pound;1.7M&nbsp;</p>
<p><br />The proposed procurement route will be a single stage (Open Procedure) using the NEC4 ECC form of Contract,&nbsp;<br />Option A Priced Contract with Activity Schedule. Full details will be available in the tender pack that we advertised on Friday 8th April 2022.</p>
