Islington Council is seeking providers or consortia of providers to submit proposals to deliver high quality, engaging and innovative summer courses and activities for young people aged 13 -24 to be delivered as part of the Summerversity, Launchpad and/or Summer Weekend Offer 2018.

The Summerversity, Launchpad and/or Summer Weekend Offer will be delivered over the summer holidays primarily in August 2018. The programme will offer a wide range of free social, recreational and educational activities for young people aged 13 -24 providing opportunities for formal accreditation where appropriate. The aim of the programme is to engage young people in a range of stimulating courses and activities over their summer holiday that will develop their skills and interests, raise their ambitions and aspirations and expose them to the new experiences and opportunities.

Providers can submit bids for one or all funding streams:

• Summerversity – Activities for young people aged 13 - 16
• Launchpad – Activities for young people aged 16 – 24
• Summer Weekend Offer – activities offered on Friday and Saturday evenings for 13 to 24 year olds over the summer holidays

All of the above streams will be delivered under, but not limited to, four main themes:

• Arts, culture, music and performance
• Healthy lifestyles, physical activity and self-development
• Media, design and technology
• Skills for life, Business and Careers

The maximum total value of this contract is £160,000 over the maximum four month term of the contract. The funding will be allocated for the Summerversity, Launchpad and/or Summer Weekend Offer 2018 across four themes as outlined above, with up to £40,000 available in each theme (across all streams).

The council is looking to award up to ten contracts in each theme (subject to meeting minimum standards) to ensure a vibrant and diverse offer. The council is not committed to funding each themed area if organisations do not meet the minimum council standards and reserves the right to reallocate funding to another themed area. Please note that if you quote to deliver under more than one stream the total contract value that any one organisation can receive is £20,000. The contract will run for a period of four months from June 2018 till September 2018 including evaluation of the programme.
