Main contract details
Tameside MBC currently offers residents, customers and other stakeholders a range of options when making payments to the Council, such as Telephone Payments, Payments via the Website, Direct Debits and Credit/Debit card payments in a small number of services which take payment directly from the public (e.g. Libraries). We also offer Giro Bank and Payzone facilities through the Post Office and small retail outlets across the Borough. There are also a small number of Council services which still take cash, but one of our key aims is to reduce the use of cash going forward. We also still receive around 50 cheques a week, although we are see numbers reducing gradually. These payment options are provided by a number of payment processing solutions and don’t necessarily provide the range of options we would like for our stakeholders. We also have a secure cash/cheque courier service for banking of cash and cheques as well as weekly cash deliveries to a small number of buildings which still hold cash balances.
