<p>There has been significant changes in last eighteen months with COVID, Brexit, climate change, government policy change and home working as the new normal. With the need for change and a drive to encourage residents to shop safely, the council has set out a series of aspirations for the borough. Priorities include creating jobs and promoting economic recovery. With this in mind we are using part of the councils Additional Restrictions Grant Fund to create an offer for start-ups and new businesses through a street trading /markets programme. As part of the councils wider business support offer to re-open safely and welcome back residents to our town centres, we are wanting to work with a partner to deliver a vibrant street market offer in the borough. The London Borough of Merton (&ldquo;the Council&rdquo;) is inviting quotations from suitably qualified and experienced providers to deliver a market management programme for Mitcham town centre with opportunity to identify other suitable street trading sites We are looking to appoint a contractor who will work with Future Merton, the Regulatory Services Partnership and Merton&rsquo;s Communications Team to: Plan &ndash; A series of local street markets over the coming months encompassing the diverse culture and hospitality of the residents of Merton. Attract &ndash; Residents and businesses through an effective marketing campaign on various social media platforms as well as traditional marketing channels. Manage &ndash; Engage with both existing and new market traders, SME&rsquo;s and sole traders and manage the day to day running of the market including stall bookings, space allocation and payments. Maintain - making good use of space, time and information. Report &ndash; On footfall, demand and an end of year action plan.</p>
