Description
Derby City Council require professional services to help progress the LCTTC from the initial concept feasibility stage into apilot delivery phase. This will include the development of the following tasks alongside market testing and pilotdelivery to include, and not limited to:
— A programme of regular business networking, forums and other events taking place across Nottingham,Nottinghamshire and Derby areas to promote low carbon vehicle technologies, generate best practice andsupport peer-to-peer learning opportunities with a view to raise the profile of the local area as an exemplar anddeliver an uptake in Ultra Low emission Vehicles;
— Generate an active database, in the form of a spreadsheet of companies, academics and individuals with apassion and interest in the subject matter, which can be accessed by all project partners and used as a centralresource for engaging with the low carbon vehicle sector;
— Develop the concept and deliver an inaugural LCTT festival / conference in partnership with the threeCouncil's as a culmination of the events and networking activity, working with key stakeholders such as FormulaE, Cenex and the Office of Low Emission Vehicles;
— Devise content, identify venues and deliver a handful of online and attended training courses and market-test the appetite for such courses via pilot / taster sessions, to include the following topics to support skillsdevelopment, training and employment opportunities:
– Introduction to Electrical Vehicle technologies;
– Introduction to Energy Management and Storage;
– Business case analysis for low carbon vehicle applications;
– Light-weighting and composite materials;
– Battery technologies and working with batteries;
– Hybrid-electric vehicle architectures;
– Performance monitoring low carbon vehicles;
– Service and maintenance of low carbon vehicle technologies.
— The above courses are likely to include the following elements (this is not an exclusive list):
– Masterclasses;
– Technician level training;
– Tablet based software learning platform;
– MOOCs.
— Develop a business case and recommend routes to funding to sustain the delivery beyond the initial pilotcourses (this might involve commercial / publicly funded models or a hybrid of both);
— Forge collaboration with local universities and colleges and the private sector to create a partnershipstructure through which training could be delivered beyond the pilot stage;
— Work with the Project Board to create a brand for the LCTTC and work in line with establishedcommunication and branding guidelines, e.g. Go Ultra Low Campaign and GoLowNottm campaigncommunications and messaging.
The vision is that during the 4 years of the pilot project additional funding will be sought to enable the project toprogress from a pilot scheme.
Potentially in 4 years time there would be a further 2 procurements:
1 for the Capital Build and one for the scheme itself.
