ECMWF, as the entrusted entity for the implementation of the Contribution Agreement between the European Commission and ECMWF number 700002511 in respect of "Strengthening Early Warning in Africa (SEWA) and African Centres of Excellence on Climate Change Resilience (ArcX) – ECMWF" invites applications under the Call for Proposals “ArcX Formation of a Network of Regional Centres of Excellence on Climate Change Resilience in Sub-Saharan Africa" (ArcX RCoE).

The ArcX Programme – Africa Regional Centres of Excellence (RCoE) supports regional centres working in key thematic areas such as water, agroecology, biodiversity and forests, climate change resilience and ocean. These centres act as hubs of innovation, delivering locally tailored solutions, promoting cross-fertilisation, and the exchange of good practices. They bridge the gap between research, public policy, and private sector, in line with the EU’s Global Gateway strategy. ArcX is financed under the Neighbourhood, Development and International Cooperation Instrument – Global Europe (NDICI–Global Europe), which is the European Union’s (EU’s) main financial instrument for external action during the period 2021–2027.

Under the Call, six Grants will be awarded for the establishment of six Regional Centres of Excellence on Climate Change Resilience.
