TEA Newtown Long Rock Mechanical & Electrical Installation of District Heating Main
Main contract details
Cormac are seeking a mechanical and electrically qualified contractor to complete the installation of the district heating main for the whole development (18 Solohaus units, 3 Plant Rooms plus 3 Vaillant air source heat pumps). The Solohaus units were procured by the Client therefore instruction must be given my Cormac to enter the units subsequent to supervisor snagging. Units must only be entered for testing and at express permission of the site staff. Works will include the testing, commissioning and certification of the individual heating systems for the units and their hot, cold and waste systems.
Installation works to include testing and commissioning of the heating main prior to completion of the works. Works to be considered complete upon successful installation of the pipework and pressure testing. Chlorination of pipes to be carried out by another. Installation to be carried out to manufacturer’s instructions (Uponor) included within the tender.

The subcontractor is required to provide skilled labour capable of proficiently installing Valliant Systems (preferably registered with Valliant), which encompass Ecoflex Thermo Twin pipes (LTHW F&R), Ecoflex Aqua Single pipes (HWS F), and (HWS R).
Cormac will complete the associated civils works (trenching, backfill, reinstatement etc) and the water/electric connections from the network meters will be completed by another contractor. The telecoms works will be completed by Openreach. The cold-water supply will be completed by South West Water. The LV cable will be installed in the consumer box located at the rear of each unit by Western Power.

The contractor needs to supply the LTHW and HWS pipe.
Subcontractor to provide:
• Lump sum price for providing labour, materials and equipment required for the installation works
• Indicative programme for the works i.e. to include mobilisation date(s), duration for installation and duration for testing/commissioning as a minimum. Number of visits.
• Certificates upon completion of works.
The intention is to award the contract to the most economically advantageous tenderer based on 100% Price.
