STAR Procurement on behalf of Rochdale Borough Council are seeking expressions of interest from suitable organisations who can provide a Lift Servicing, Repair & Maintenance Service.

Brief Outline of Requirements
Housing adaptations play a vital role in helping disabled or older people remain in their own homes and to enable them to maintain an independent lifestyle ensuring they are then able to remain and contribute to the community in which they live. Many older people and people with a disability face difficulties in their day to day lives as their ability to use standard facilities in their homes, such as the bathroom or stairs becomes more difficult resulting in their independence and quality of life being compromised.
For these people using the stairs in order to reach essential facilities such as their bathroom, toilet or bedroom can become extremely difficult, exhausting and in many cases very painful. In the majority of cases the most appropriate solution is to install an appliance that enables them to access all floors of their home.
The contract will enable Rochdale Borough Council (RBC) to continue to meet its regulatory requirements in servicing and repair of stairlifts, through floor lifts and step lifts.
RBC is committed to providing services that are efficient, effective and best value for money. The Lift Servicing, Repair & Maintenance Service makes an important contribution to meeting this objective.
The Contractor shall undertake and complete appropriate servicing and repair of all the Equipment listed in the schedule, with the aim of prolonging the life of the equipment, to reduce unnecessary breakdowns and to manage the risks of equipment failure.
The tender is to provide cover for a fully comprehensive service, repair and maintenance care of the lifts throughout the full 24 hour period of each calendar day throughout the contract period. Including all attendances for breakdown and lift-related incidents however arising, but excluding those elements indicated in the schedule of exclusions. The cover is to include the cost of all repairs, labour and materials for each range of assets on an annual basis.
The contract price for the services and/or repairs should be fully inclusive and should include labour, materials, travel, equipment and all overheads and other costs whatsoever that may arise in order to undertake the service and/or repair.
