Description
Barrow-in-Furness Borough Council is looking to contract with a supplier(s) to provide Insurance Services excluding Broker services. Negotiated Tender split into 3 separate lots:

Lot 1. Property - Material Damage, Business Interruption, Contract Works, Money, Computers and Specified all Risks.

Lot 2. Liability - EL, PL, OI (including land charges and public health), Fidelity Guarantee, and Motor Fleet.

Lot 3. Personal Accident/Travel.

Suppliers can bid for multiple lots, as the Tender information will show. We are keeping this in a single ITT workflow rather than breaking it up into separate lots, if you can make clear in the tender documents the Lot(s) you are tendering for. The tender is for a 7 year contract with no option to extend.

Insurers will be authorised to write the classes of insurance listed within the EU Member States subject to English/Welsh Law and jurisdiction of the English/Welsh courts. Potential suppliers may be asked to produce a certificate issued by the appropriate insurance regulatory authority indicating the types of insurance the insurer is authorised to provide and must comply with Departments of Trade and Industry Regulations. Potential 5/6 suppliers may be asked to produce a copy of their annual reports and accounts for the last 3 years, name and address of bankers, details of last 3 years underwriting experience for the classes of business referred to in this notice.

All insurers must provide evidence that they are at least "A-" rated by Standard and Poor's (or equivalent) and/or approved by JLT Market Security Committee, otherwise their submission will be automatically rejected.

Details of membership of any professional body or association and education/Professional qualifications/ experience of all staff providing the services, and evidence of risk management capabilities. Please see the invitation to tender (ITT) for more details.
