The vision of the SMARTer Access to Sport, Recreation and Leisure project is to transform the way Sport, Recreation and Leisure facilities and associated services and products are managed and delivered to customers, in order to provide efficient, effective and customer focused services. This will include significantly improved on-line functionality for all customers, and a streamlining of back office functions to provide a reduction in bureaucracy and duplication.
The existing ICT Leisure Management Systems used by Recreation Services for bookings, management, events, memberships, swim school and retail have been in operation for between 5-12 years depending on the system. These systems do not necessarily provide the required interfaces for the systems to talk to each other, and some are no longer provided with developments or enhancements to improve and advance the customer experience. In addition, in some cases, the technical support is not of a required standard.
A key requirement of this project will be to drive more bookings through online access and to allow for registration, payment and cancellations online.
