Passenger Transport Contract 2016

The Contract covers the transportation of both children and adults, on various regular scheduled and ad hoc journeys in wheelchair accessible vehicles, minibuses and private hire vehicles to various schools and day centres. People using the service are likely to be vulnerable and may suffer from a learning disability, behavioural problems, have sensory or hearing difficulties, an autistic spectrum disorder or a physical disability. Because of these needs, an escort may be required to accompany them, who will be provided either by the Council or by the transport provider. Wirral Council’s objective is to provide a quality, reliable and efficient service to everyone who uses its services, ensuring that equal opportunity principles apply. The transport provided must be safe, reliable and adapted to meet people’s needs where necessary. Staff should be sensitive to people’s needs and willing to undertake appropriate training if required.

The contract will be for a period of one year with the option to extend for a further one year.

The last date for requesting application packs is 12 noon on 31st March 2016. The closing date for receipt of submissions is 12 noon 1st April 2016. Only electronic submissions will be accepted via The Chest.
