REQUEST FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST – R28-19 EOI
Sefton Is seeking a placement for Child A, a young person aged 15 and is presently identifying as Female, however, ongoing work indicates Child A is fluid in Gender. is presently placed in Tier 4 Health provision and was admitted due to self harming but is now ready for discharge. We require a suitable placement to be located as soon as possible to allow for a smooth transition.
The long-term plan for Child A is for Child A to attend a 52 Week Residential Home with Education. It is envisaged that this placement would need to last until Child A completes education and onto the age of 18. Child A has not attended mainstream education since February 2018 and has engaged with minimal education provision in hospital or home settings.
YP Characteristics: -
• Child A has no criminal convictions.
• Child A can struggle with boundaries.
• Child A can be verbally and physically aggressive.
• Child A has damaged property.
• Child A has Self Harmed to the point of hospitalisation.
• Child A can also be easily lead by others.

Placement needs:-
• An Ofsted Registered Children’s Home.
• To work in partnership with the Council and CAMHS to manage risk.
• To provide an environment where Child A can feel safe and comfortable.
• Initially 1:1 staffing.
• A solo placement – or small group setting – no more than a 3 in total.
• A compatibility risk assessment to assess suitability with similar Children.
• Placement to be away from the Southport area of Sefton but close to borough for contact purposes, however, all areas will be considered.
• Placement staff needs to be trained in restraint and safe holding but staff will need to try all methods of de-escalation first.
• Placement will need consistent and resilient staffing.
