Description
This Invitation to Tender is issued by Borough of Poole.

This tender opportunity is for Management and Delivery of Care at Figbury Lodge, a newly developed 80 bed care home designed by the Borough of Poole and located within Poole.

Poole encompasses some 67,000 households and is the home for 148,600 people. In Poole there is a recognised shortage of appropriate good quality affordable care home beds with nursing provision for older people, particularly for those people with high needs including dementia. A report commissioned by the Council in early 2014 identified that because of changing demographics there will be a high increase in the number of older people with these needs requiring a place in a care home.

Currently Poole, place their residents in an increasing number of out of borough care homes. In order to ensure the availability of care within the Borough to this vulnerable client group the Council will be developing a new 80 bed care home facility on the development site at Mitchell Road, Poole, Canford Heath, Poole, Dorset BH17 8US.

The delivery model within this newly built care home will be Care with and without nursing including those with dementia, behaviours that challenge and transitional care and the overall operation of the home, home management and facilities management. The duration of the Service Contract will be 10 years preceded by a period of time, approximately two years when the successful provider will work in partnership with the Council to participate in the building, fitting out and finishes inside the home and plan the timetable to ensure that all relevant staff and services are in place on the opening date.

We are seeking a Care Partner with experience in delivering the full range of holistic services needed to deliver the above range of residential care and related services in this new care home development.

Through contract management arrangements and working with the council’s service improvement team the appointed Partner will deliver good quality person centred care as the guiding standard of practice and aspire to achieving an outstanding CQC rating.

As this is a new building, no relevant transfer applies at the commencement of this Contract.
