Markham Place – Installation of Platform Lift
Swindon Borough Council is seeking suitably qualified and experienced contractors to undertake the Installation of a Platform Lift located within Markham Place, Cowleaze Crescent.

Swindon Borough Council requires a specialist contractor to design, co-ordinate, purchase, fabricate, deliver to site, install, test, commission and set to work the installation of a platform lift at Markham Place.
The principal construction services required will comprise:-
• Relocation of existing wires/cabling, pipework and fire-alarm sounders as required.
• Removals of existing flooring, timber stud-work partition wall, and doors as required.
• Forming of openings to allow for the positioning of load-bearing steel beams.
• Forming of openings to the ground floor ceiling to allow for the positioning of the platform lift.
• Installation of load-bearing steel beams as required.
• Installation of lift and ground floor located ramp as required.
• Associated builders work as required.
• The testing and commissioning of all mechanical equipment to be supplied and installed as part of the installation of the platform lift.
• The provision of any O & M manuals in cd format required in order to practically complete the works.
• Redecoration as required.
The contract will be let to a single contractor for a 7 week period.
The evaluation of tenders will be based on 70% price 30% quality.
Notification of intent and clarifications to the tender may be submitted up to 12 noon local UK time on Friday 1st July 2016 by email to Christopher Smalley at csmalley@swindon.gov.uk.
All clarifications relating to the tender will be posted on the Supplying The South West portal and contractors will be required to check on a regular basis. You will not be automatically notified when an update to the clarification log is made.
Responses are required to be submitted in alignment with the tender document no later than 12 noon local UK time on Friday 8th July 2016.
