The Southport Seafront Air Show is recognised as the North West's largest Air show attracting up to 70,000 spectators over three days in September. It was first held in 1991 and attracts tens of thousands of spectators to see military and civilian aircraft, classic jets, helicopters, aerobatics by the world famous Red Arrows, warbirds and parachute displays take to the skies above Southport.

Combining a spectacular air display with a host of ground activities, the Southport Air show is an exhilarating and fun-filled experience that the whole family can enjoy.

The event is one of the aviation calendar's most spectacular events, providing stunning views of the best jets, fighters, bombers, helicopters and aerobatic aircraft. The event has been extended over the past 2 years to include a Friday Night Flying Event which features aircraft with LED lights and fireworks attached to them.

Sefton Council’s Tourism Section is responsible for arranging the event and is looking for a suitable organisation who can provide a fully managed air show flying display service that is fully compliant with UK Civil Aviation Authority and Ministry of Defence requirements.

The Southport Air show in 2019 is scheduled to be held on the 6th, 7th and 8th September 2019. The successful organisation will be expected to start working with the Council’s Tourism department shortly after the contract is awarded.
