Description
The London Borough of Sutton, together with the South East Rivers Trust, is undertaking a ‘Sutton’s SuDS in Schools’ project. The project aims to reduce flood risk to 46 properties in the downstream catchment, attenuate 4.2 hectares, and reduce or remove playground flooding in the schools. This will see the installation of SuDS features in seven schools in the Hackbridge area.

The project is in four phases:
Phase 1 - initial scoping
Phase 2 - design
Phase 3 - construction of SuDS in three schools during the schools summer holidays 2019 - this is the focus of this procurement
Phase 4 - construction of SuDS in four educational establishments during the school summer holidays 2020

Sutton want to work with a specialist SuDS construction partner for phase 3 of the project, who will construct SuDS in three schools in the school summer holidays in 2019. The SuDS features have already been designed by consultancy Metis.

The council is therefore inviting all providers to participate in this soft market testing exercise to refine the specification for this commission. Sutton Council will use the information gathered during this soft market testing exercise to inform the final specification.

All providers are asked to firstly review the DRAFT specification (and attachments - Artwork for the 3 schools, Standard Design Details, Surface Water Drainage for the 3 Schools and Sutton's Developmental Assets ) and then provide answers to the questions set out in the exercise document attached.

A soft market testing event for this commission is scheduled for Monday 10 December between 9:15am and 5:30pm. This will start with a walking tour of two of the schools in the project: Harris Junior Academy and Victor Seymour Infants School, before 1:1 discussions at the London Borough of Sutton Council Offices, Denmark Road, Carshalton, SM5 2JG. (1:1 timeslots will be allocated to providers after 5 December 2018).

If you wish to attend, please confirm your attendance via the messaging system on London Tenders Portal by 4pm on Wednesday 5 December at the latest. Only providers who have confirmed attendance by this date will be allocated timeslots and seen on the day.

The soft market testing exercise online closes on 8 January 2019 at 4pm

Please submit the exercise document as an attachment and send via the messaging system through London Tenders Portal.
