Description
Current contractual arrangements for services that support informal carers end on 30th June 2026 and Cornwall Council is seeking to engage with organisations who work with and support the informal caring community in Cornwall to:

- help inform the recommissioning approach for the new contract for Informal Carers Support
provision across Cornwall and;

- to understand the potential level of interest across this market sector

The carers strategy and specification development market engagement period will run from July 2025 to June 2026 inclusively and will include initial Engagement Workshops for Service Providers and Community Groups as below (previously advertised):

Workshop No. 1 - 30th July 9.30 - 12.30 in person at Truro Community Library, TR1 1EP
Workshop No. 2 - 13th August 14.00 - 16.00 via Microsoft Teams
Workshop No. 3 - 3rd September 09.30 - 12.30 previously via Microsoft Teams but now in person at Threemilestone Community Centre, Pengelly Way, Threemilestone, Truro, TR3 6DP.

Invitations to the above workshops were also sent via e-mail directly to Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise sector representatives on 21st July 2025.

These workshops are an opportunity for potential providers to learn about how Cornwall Council are developing the new carers strategy for children and adults and a chance to share views of how carers are identified and supported in Cornwall.

Additional market engagement is detailed below:

Surveys for carers, young carers and professionals – please visit letstalk.cornwall.gov.uk/caring.
Carers and Professionals Co-design group – via Microsoft Teams on the following dates: 05/08/25, 12/08/25, 21/08/25, 09/09/25, 16/09/25. Further dates to be advised. To receive the links to the Teams meetings, please send an e-mail, requesting this to: adultscommissioning@cornwall.gov.uk.
Carers Partnership Board Meetings – October 2025 & January 2026. To receive invitations to these, please send an e-mail, requesting this to: adultscommissioning@cornwall.gov.uk.

Further market engagement events will be advertised through the Proactis portal, the Council’s e-tendering system, accessed through the following link: www.supplyingthesouthwest.org.uk. ref. DN 774681 Informal Carers Support provision for Cornwall.

Participation in this market engagement process will not prejudice suppliers when participating in any future procurement.
