PIN - Accommodation provision for Looked After Children

As part of a review of children’s residential provision in Blackpool, Blackpool Council wishes to enter into an exploratory dialogue with organisations that have experience of or an interest in providing either (i) residential care for children and young people with very challenging behaviour and/or complex needs; (ii) delivery of alternative accommodation models, including enhanced foster care for children and young people with very challenging behaviour and / or complex needs.

This exercise is for information only.

The main purpose of this notice is to help the Council to understand existing models of delivery and market capability. Blackpool Council intends to invite a limited number of organisations with appropriate experience to meet officers to discuss further.

Blackpool Council currently provides accommodation for looked after children through both in-house and externally commissioned residential and foster care placements.

Interested parties are asked to respond via The Chest to express an interest to participate in this dialogue. Please include a brief overview of your organisation’s proven experience in the delivery of relevant provision.

Applications to participate in this dialogue should be received no later than Wednesday 27th January 2015. The Council will then select a number of organisations from those applying to participate in dialogue.
