<p><strong>ABOUT US</strong></p>
<p>The role of the Fire Standards Board is to oversee the identification, organisation, development and maintenance of professional Standards for fire and rescue services in England. The Board is responsible for approving Standards and the approach to their development.</p>
<p>It will set the priorities for Standards development work.</p>
<p>It will commission work based on proposals from third parties, monitor progress with ongoing work and approve completed work.</p>
<p>It will seek to ensure that any Standards presented for approval have:</p>
<ul>
<li>been developed in line with the agreed development process;</li>
<li>undergone appropriate consultation with subject matter experts and relevant stakeholders; and,</li>
<li>undergone an independent quality assurance process.</li>

<p><strong>THE REQUIREMENT </strong></p>
<p>There is a requirement to undertake a quality assurance exercise on the Community Risk Management Planning Fire Standard to be completed during March 2021.</p>
<p>The assurance exercise required is focused on evaluating how well the Fire Standards Development Process has been followed using an already developed Assessors Guide.</p>
<p>The Assessors Guide has been based on the Fire Standards Development Process and underpinning tools.</p>
<p>Methodology</p>
<p>It is envisaged the Quality Assurance exercise could be done remotely as a desktop-based process, accessing team members via Teams for discussion as and when required. Access to relevant documentation will be given.</p>
<p>Following the assessors guide the assessor will be required to evaluate how closely the process has been followed by evaluating evidence against it.</p>
<p>Quality Assurance Report</p>
<p>The assessor will be required to provide a final quality assurance report including an assurance statement and any recommendations based on the findings of the assurance exercise.</p>
<p>Timing</p>
<p>This work is to be completed during March with a final report provided no later than 26 March 2021.</p>
<p><strong>PREQUALIFICATION & Assessor Credentials Required:</strong></p>
<p>Anyone seeking to propose themselves for this work should have a background in:</p>
<ul>
<li>providing assurance of compliance with procedures, systems, controls and governance</li>
<li>experience in risk management governance and frameworks and risk management planning</li>
</ul>
