PRIOR INFORMATION NOTICE: Positive day opportunities for people with dementia and older people with functional mental health needs - Provider Information Event
Categories
85000000-9 - Health and social work services
Description
It is an exciting time for social care and Somerset County Council (SCC) is inviting providers to this event to discuss the future direction for day opportunities for people with dementia and older people with functional mental health needs.

Across SCC, there is an ambition that people in Somerset have good quality lives, living as independently as possible, within their local communities. Momentum is building across adult social care to change the approach to care and support, with a re-focus on enablement, choice and control and community connections. For people with dementia and older people with functional mental health needs, particularly those with more complex needs, SCC is now commencing work to look at developing creative and flexible day opportunities that are responsive to people’s personal circumstances, deliver positive outcomes and are connected to local communities.

Organisations are invited to attend this Provider Information Event in order to:

• Receive information about the future direction for day opportunities for people with dementia and older people with functional mental health needs in Somerset

• Discuss, contribute to and influence the future commissioning intentions of SCC

The event is aimed at any organisation / provider with an interest in community-based day opportunities for people with dementia and older people with functional mental health needs.

A full agenda will be available on registration for the event (see below for registration details).

Due to the venue size, we ask that no more than two representatives attend from each organisation.

Organisations that take part will not be advantaged or disadvantaged in any way in any potential future formal procurement. Commercial confidentiality will be respected. This notice does not represent a formal commitment by the Council to undertake a procurement procedure.
