Provision of First Aid Training Programme Accreditation

Sefton Council seek to provide a First Aid Programme which is fully accredited by an Ofqual recognised body.

The programme will consist of the following courses:

• First Aid at Work (3-day)
• First Aid at Work Requalification (2-day)
• Emergency First Aid (1-day)
• Basic Life Support & Safe Use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) (½ day)
• Paediatric First Aid (2-day)

Accreditation will ensure quality standards are kept up to date and are monitored by an Ofqual recognised body. This will ensure that quality of teaching methods & resources used are of the required standard to keep Sefton, its employees, associates and service users safe. This will safeguard Sefton if they are ever challenged and / or against any possible litigation.

Undergoing a robust QA assessment and monitoring process will allow Sefton Council to achieve & maintain recognised status as an approved centre for First Aid training provision. In turn, this will give Sefton Council a greater standing in the external market place and confidence to our customers both internally and externally.

The successful bidder will need to be registered as an approved provider and possess the appropriate skills, qualifications and experience to provide an OFQUAL recognised mark of quality to a range of training programmes. The successful bidder is also required to be a member of Federation of Awarding Bodies (FAB).



The successful bidder will be required to provide the following:

• Learning plans
• Presentations including videos
• Learning resources
• Trainee booklets
• Regular updates including legislation and techniques
• Support and guidance regarding the accreditation process
• Support and advise regarding quality improvements
• Regular monitoring of record keeping, evaluations, assessments, internal quality assurance processes, policies and systems
• Annual moderation vists
• Learner certificates
• Marketing materials
