Description
Barrow-in-Furness Borough Council are looking to contract with a supplier to provide Catering and Events Management with associated Cleaning Services within the Council.

The contract will be for an initial 5 years with the option to extend a further 3 years providing the quality of service is maintained.
Statement of Services

Prepared September 2019 to support the tender process for catering and cleaning contracts relating to council operated venues in the town of Barrow-in-Furness.

There are three options for contract bids, which comprise of catering and cleaning services for the following:
1) The Forum Theatre
2) The Dock Museum
3) Both venues as above

Opportunity

The council is now commencing the tender process relating to the provision of these services at the venues from early 2020 and will be offering a contract term of 5 years with the opportunity to extend the contract by a further 3 years if both parties are in agreement and subject to satisfactory performance. The form of contract will be the council’s Standard Service Contract, along with a Service Level Agreement (SLA) setting out more operational detail and specifications.
At this stage the council is looking for interested parties to complete a Standard Selection Questionnaire (SSQ) in order to pass the due diligence required to progress to the tender stage. The full tender specification pack will be provided after interested parties have passed this stage and will provide details of performance standards and related procedures that the contractor is required to meet in this contract.
The contract for each venue includes the exclusive rights to provide the catering and cleaning services at that venue and therefore the council is seeking applications from suitability qualified and experienced contractors able to provide evidence of the operation and management of similar contracts.

The council will be looking for a contractor/s to operate these services who will share the council’s vision for the future of the venues as well as the overall ethos and business approach. The venues are high profile in the area and, as such need to retain their high standards and excellent reputation, of which the catering and cleaning are obviously integral elements.
