The works shall be the replacement of the existing roof mounted air handling unit to the swimming pool with a new unit. The replacement air handling unit will have a larger physical size than the existing resulting in the requirement to provide increased structural supports for the unit.
The works shall include but not be limited to:
• Removal of existing and disposal of old plant
• Provision of additional structural supports and associated builders work
• Ductwork alterations and associated ductwork thermal insulation
• Alterations to gas service
• Alterations to the existing LTHW heating system
• Alterations to the changing room extract system
• Alterations to electrical services and supplies
• Alterations to BMS controls systems
• Cranage and plant handling
• Associated builders work
The contractor shall develop a programme for the removal and replacement of the air handling unit and associated works, which shall be submitted to the client for approval. The works need to be commenced and completed as quickly as possible.
Closure of areas and shutdown of systems that will affect the day-to-day operation of the leisure centre shall be notified and agreed with the Leisure Centre management.
The contractor shall consider the importance of keeping the operational shutdown of the pool hall ventilation system to a minimum when planning the works.
It is anticipated that the works should take no longer than 12 weeks, from an order being placed with the contractor by the client.
