Title
KIngston Cycle Hub - Soft Market Testing
Categories
92000000-1 - Recreational, cultural and sporting services
Description
The Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames station is the main public transport gateway to Kingston town centre. The vision for Kingston Station is to enhance the arrival experience and support the regeneration of the town centre, and the proposals are focused on enhancing public space, pedestrian & cycling facilities and safety. The Kingston Cycle Hub forms part of the Kingston Station project in the Go Cycle programme.

Kingston station lacks a modern cycle parking hub for commuters and
visitors. There is limited space on the pavement for expansion. The cycle storage hub proposals are to install a secure cycle parking structure that will allow for both existing and future cycling demand. It provides covered cycle storage for up to 450 cycles in a combination of secure and free access cycle parking over three levels. The structure will be designed to accommodate cycling related facilities such as a maintenance and bike hire unit with space for a retail unit.

This soft market test is to explore potential facilities that could be attracted to a vibrant station location that offers benefits to local residents and visitors alike.

This soft market testing activity does not constitute a call for competition to procure any services, supplies or works for the Council and the Council is not bound to accept any proposals offered. The Council is not liable for any costs, fees or expenses incurred by any party participating in the soft market testing exercise. Any procurement of any services, supplies or works by the Council in due course will be carried out strictly in accordance with the provisions in the UK and EU Procurement Regulations.
