Sensory Play Garden & Sand Play

Brixworth Country Park is one of six country parks owned by Northamptonshire County Council and managed by First for Wellbeing CIC - a social enterprise company set up entirely to serve the needs of the local community. The company is a partnership between Northamptonshire County Council, Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and the University of Northampton, and offers an integrated health and wellbeing service for people who live in Northamptonshire.
Brixworth Country Park remains a popular attraction. The council’s parks have to generate sufficient income to cover the cost of their provision. Providing exciting and unique play areas that attract large numbers of people is a key element in generating this income. This means that it is vital that maximum value for money is achieved from this project.

This RFQ forms part of a wider project, funded by a Mick George Community Fund grant, that aims to revitalise the garden into an accessible for all space that will stimulate the senses, provide respite and interaction with the environment.
The garden has a small wildlife pond with seating areas and a pergola, raised beds with scented, tactile and colourful planting and naturally landscaped areas. We are planning to introduce sand play, sensory equipment, wooden sculptures and path re-surfacing to make the area be accessible for all. This RFQ is for the sand play and sensory play element of this.
